Innovative Nurses & Sitters (INS) is a Texas State Licensed Home and Community Support Service Agency. Since 1994, we have been providing personal assistance services in the form of private duty visiting nurses, sitters and companions to individuals and the elderly living at home , in a retirement community, an assisted living facility, a hospital/skilled care unit, or those living with family members.

Innovative Nurses & Sitters is a non-franchised Houston based company, owner operated since 1994. Our specialty is caring for the
elderly and disabled by assuring their comfort and safety yet encouraging them to remain as independent as possible.
About the Owner
 After growing up in New Orleans and Sydney, Australia, Susan graduated from the University of Virginia and followed in her father's entrepreneurial steps.
She has been involved in medical staffing services since 1979, having co-founded a maritime medical services company, radiology staffing agency, and in 1994, a home health care agency in Houston, TX. Innovative Nursing Systems/Innovative Nurses & Sitters is licensed in Texas as a Personal Assistance Services agency providing trustworthy caregivers to Harris and the surrounding counties on a 24/7 basis. Under her guidance, INS maintains a reputation for ethical treatment of employees and clients consistent with her personal values.
When not working or chauffeuring a teenage son to soccer games, Susan enjoys traveling with her husband, playing tennis and horseback riding.

Types of Care
Sitter / Companion Care
The services provided by Innovative Nurses & Sitters benefit the client by ensuring their safety and security in the absence of a family member. Our caregivers tend to the personal needs of people that are often overlooked in a hospital or assisted living setting. In the home, our caregivers assist with personal needs, provide light housekeeping, perform chores and run errands. Our reliable help offers companionship, prepares meals and attends to a client for 4 to 24 hours per day.
Live-in Care
When the situation is appropriate, a live-in caregiver may be the way to go. We will arrange for someone to live in the home and provide 24 hour supervision and custodial care. Rates are commensurate with the level of care required.
Client Check-in Calls
INS will provide someone to call periodically or to drop in for 1 or 2 hours several times a week to check on the well being of a client. This service is invaluable to family members who live out of town and need an extra pair of eyes and ears watching over their loved one.
Recovery Care
Our short-term caregiving services will provide the privacy that you desire after a medical procedure. It is our goal to minimize the discomfort of post-surgical symptoms and maximize your comfort and well-being at the location you choose - home, hospital, or hotel. Support Hospice and Long Term Care Team
Upon request, INS also provides the following additional services for our clients:
- Complement hospice and long term care team: sitters who work along side hospice staff caring for the terminally ill
- Temporary or permanent incapacitation and recuperation
